Platinum is the grade most often guessed at, because white gold and palladium alloy look like it under a loupe and a stamp is only as good as whoever struck it.

Platinum carries a per-ounce deduction, taken before your figure is worked. It is already inside the figure you are shown, so the number you close is the number you are paid. Gold and silver carry no equivalent.

How it is assayed on arrival.

The video call is booked before the package is opened. The lot is weighed in front of you, then read on XRF, with the instrument and its display in shot. That reading is what separates platinum from white gold and from palladium alloy, and you watch it taken.

Plated and gold-filled material is not bought at all. It is refused. It is separated out on the call while you watch it come out, and it goes back to you only if you ask for it on that call.

What to expect.

Your unit
Weigh it in grams, pennyweight or troy ounces, whichever you weigh in. Every figure that comes back is in the same unit, because that is the one you can check.
The deduction
A per-ounce deduction applies to platinum and is taken before the figure is worked. Nothing is added to it afterwards.
The lock
Closing holds your figure. The price you locked is the price you are paid.
Carriage
Close, and we send you an insured container to fill. Insured both ways, at our cost. Cover starts at the first carrier scan, and from that scan the risk is ours.
Settlement
Same day, once the lot is assayed.
